from outside of boston: we recommend flying into boston logan airport, renting a car, and following the "travel by land" directions from boston below. in addition, cape air flies (mostly smaller planes) from a variety of (mostly smaller) airports to hyannis, where you can rent a car.

traffic warning: traffic to the cape is usually quite bad on friday night and mid-day saturday. we recommend leaving for the cape late morning on friday or early morning on saturday. the traffic leaving the cape on sundays is also quite bad. to be safe, please allow up to 2.5 hours to travel between boston and chatham on weekend days.
from boston to chatham: take route 93 south to exit 7, route 3 south. continue on route 3 south, over the sagamore bridge, and continue on route 6. take exit 10 and follow queen anne road and old queen anne road into downtown chatham.
from nyc to chatham: take route 95 north to providence. take exit 19 to route 195 east. stay on route 195 for 25 miles to exit 22a, route 25 east. follow route 25 over the bourne bridge. on the other side of the bridge, take the 5th exit at the rotary onto sandwich road. after 3.2 miles, turn right onto the mid-cape connector and merge onto route 6 east. take exit 10 and follow queen anne road and old queen anne road into downtown chatham.
